My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From a shy and under-socialized pup to a confident, loving companion, Nitro's journey is nothing short of miraculous. First arriving at the shelter in fall 2022, Nitro faced numerous challenges. New experiences like meeting people, walking on a leash, and even riding in a car were overwhelming for him. Despite these hurdles, Nitro's loving nature shone through.

Thanks to his friends, Nitro has blossomed into a dog who's not just ready, but eager to find his forever home. Today, Nitro is a completely transformed dog. He's goofy, affectionate, and finds peace and comfort in human touch. He enjoys hikes along the Lady Bird Lake and has proven himself to be well-mannered and house-trained.

Nitro's time at the shelter included valuable classes at Everydog Austin, helping him become the well-adjusted dog he is today. He loves car rides with his besties and has shown that with patience and love, any dog can overcome a rough start.

Now, Nitro is looking for a family that will cherish him, providing the love and stability he deserves. He dreams of a home where he can share morning cuddles, thrive on routine, and receive endless affection. If you're ready to meet a dog who has overcome the odds with grace and joy, Nitro is waiting for you at Austin Pets Alive. Come see how much happiness this incredible dog can bring to your life.
