My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Curious, Affectionate, Resilient

Joxer the Mighty might just be a capuchin monkey! His expressive face, the way he plays, his excitement for everything - his joy is infectious. He runs like a rocking horse and when he stands still, he has such long legs that it's almost as if he is standing upright like a meerkat!

Joxer's day job is to climb and explore, and then he puts in extra time by taking shifts at the Biscuit Factory! Put out a soft blanket and it's a magnet to him - he will curl right up on it with you. He adores laying on you and will groom you, too. He loves head pets so much that he will request you use both of your hands! If he's not following you around the house, he's rolling around on the floor, awaiting pets. He's such a friendly and affectionate young boy!

And playful! He loves wand toys, strings, straws, catnip, and playing with other kitties. He has the most fun wrestling with the resident cat in his foster home; they play nearly non-stop. You can tell when Joxer is super excited because he looks even more like a little monkey!

Joxer came to APA! with "atresia ani", which means his anus was too small and didn't work properly; this is more common than you would imagine! So he had a surgical procedure to create a bigger and better heinie hole. He needs to eat a special wet food diet and take daily meds to make sure things flow smoothly, but that's it! If he gets super stressed, it might become itchy/swollen and bother him. A gentle bathing of his bottom now and then would be nice, too!

Joxer survived the condition he was born with and has thrived, being the most adorable and super loving little guy! He might need a little extra attention and care, and time to settle in, but he's an affectionate, boisterous, hilarious, and charming kitten.

Joxer would love a rather calm home with another nice cat to play with. And toys, a cat tree - and people to love and cuddle with! Contact us today to meet Joxer the Mighty!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
