Olive is a precious 8-year-old Yorkie/Schnauzer mix. She was rescued 6 years ago and they told us she was 2. Prior to that, she had been in a hoarding/backyard breeding situation that left her with some trauma and health issues. The health issues have all resolved over time, thankfully, although she is missing quite a few teeth.
Olive can be slow to warm up to someone new, but once she gets comfortable with you she's full of love. She wants to be by your side at all times, and loves giving nose kisses and curling up in your lap. She can be playful, and is so excited to greet you when you come home, even if you've been gone for only a minute.
Olive protects those she loves by barking. She can react negatively to being surprised and nip at you. This wasn't a problem for us until we had kids. The chaos of a toddler does not mix well with a dog who reacts badly to surprises. We're looking for an owner who can offer her the lifestyle she deserves, not one separated by a baby gate.
