My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nitro 🖤🐾

Nitro is a 7-year-old, 14-pound Mini Poodle with a gentle heart, a thoughtful personality, and a very exclusive guest list. He’s good with cats and would do best in a calm, adult-only home where his boundaries are respected and life moves at a peaceful pace.

Nitro isn’t one to rush into relationships—he likes to take a minute to observe, assess, and decide if you’re his kind of human. Once he warms up, though, that’s it… you’re his person. He forms deep bonds and will happily follow you from room to room, keeping a quiet but loving eye on you.

This sweet boy isn’t a big fan of the leash and prefers to enjoy life without the pressure of formal strolls. He thrives with patience, gentle encouragement, and a home that understands he’ll need time and positive experiences to feel comfortable. What he may lack in leash enthusiasm, he more than makes up for in loyalty and devotion.

If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, and incredibly loyal companion who chooses you slowly—but loves you deeply—Nitro might just be your perfect match. 🐩💕

Nitro's adoption fee is $200

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
