My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Riddick: A Shy Heart Ready to Blossom into Your Best Friend! 🐾

Riddick, a handsome boy, found himself as a stray, and he's now on a journey to find the love and trust he truly deserves. He may initially appear a bit shy, but there's a heart of gold waiting to be discovered. Once he warms up to you, he becomes an affectionate and loving companion, eager to share his quiet strength.

Riddick is a dog who just needs that extra bit of confidence and patience to help him thrive. His initial shyness is just a mask hiding the potential for a deep and lasting connection. Beneath that exterior is a handsome and strong dog with a quiet and contemplative personality, perfect for those seeking a thoughtful and loyal companion.

If you're in search of a best friend who'll be your confidant, your loyal partner, and a source of unwavering love, Riddick might be the one you've been waiting for. Your understanding, patience, and kindness can provide Riddick with the love and support he needs to truly come out of his shell and flourish.

Visit the dogs at Hopewell, and you might just find your perfect match in Riddick. Be the one to help him discover his full potential, and in return, you'll have a steadfast friend for life.

Riddick's journey to trust and love is waiting to be written, and you have the opportunity to be a vital part of his story. Don't miss the chance to make this beautiful soul a cherished member of your family. 🏡❤️🐾 #AdoptRiddick #ShyButLoving #BestFriendMaterial

More about this shelter

The City of Hopewell Animal Shelter is run by the Animal Control Officers. We fall under the Hopewell Police Department and train accordingly to serve the animals and the public of Hopewell. Our shelter is currently a small scale shelter with 28 dog kennels and 14 cat cages.

Our shelter is often full. We work hard to find our animals that are not claimed by an owner a new home or an approved rescue.

Most of our animals at our facility are animals that were found running loose that no one came to look for. We do often get animals in from owner surrenders where the previous owners can no longer care for them. At times we also seize animals and they will eventually need forever homes or rescue.

Come on down to the City of Hopewell and meet the wonderful Animal Control Officers and the Shelter staff that care for the animals on a daily basis.
