Meet Buddy
Buddy is an affectionate, human-oriented, 8 year old pup who is young at heart. Buddy is sweet with all people and loves children. He is good with other dogs with a proper introduction, but isn’t particularly interested in roughhousing or playing directly with other dogs. He would love a fenced yard to run and play in, but he also does well with regular leashed walks. He is not a barker, so could easily live in an apartment or condo. He can be curious about cats but has lived harmoniously with a senior cat in his foster home. Buddy is a champion cuddler and likes to curl up next to his person to watch television or to sleep at night. The level of affection he shows for his humans is amazing given the years of terrible neglect that he previously experienced. He would prefer a home with someone who is there more often than not.
Buddy came to our rescue in March. We took our time to get to the bottom of the cause of coughing that started when he arrived at our rescue. The vets agree that environmental change triggered chronic bronchitis in Buddy but his coughing is now completely under control with a puffer given twice daily. He will likely need the puffer for the rest of his life. Apart from this, there are no medical issues, and the bronchitis is totally manageable. He is completely up-to-date with his vaccinations and preventatives, and has had a dental with a couple of extractions. He is a healthy and happy dog.
He needs a family who will allow him to enjoy the affection he so craves. He would do better in an area that is quieter since walking down busy city streets with lots of other dogs can make him reactive. That being said, with proper introductions to other dogs outside, he is just fine.

Buddy is Neutered, Microchipped, and Up To Date on his vaccinations. He is being Fostered in Toronto.
