Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** If you are interested in adopting Archie please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
There's nothing cuter than a wiggly, scruffy dog!
Archie was found as a stray in Houston, TX and brought into a small, high-kill shelter. At the shelter he had the best attitude, and despite being their most social, friendly, and happy dog, because he was there for more than 5 days he found himself next in line to be euthanized.
Farfel's Rescue received a plea email with his goofy, happy face and notes that read "this is the sweetest boy I've ever met. Someone please save him!" and we knew that we had to help.
Archie is only 8 months old, and believed to be a Jack Russell / Beagle mix. Of course his breed mix is an educated guess.
Archie is 19 lbs, and shouldn't get to be more than 22 lbs full grown.
Since Archie is still just a young guy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way.
Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area.
Archie is up to date on his vetting and vaccines. He is not yet neutered, although Farfel's Rescue covers the full cost of his neuter, which is required to finalize any adoption.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
