My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chiko is an adorable, 4 yr old 7 lb Yorkie mix who was abandoned in a vacant home when his owners got evicted. He has been confined to a cage for most of his life. He came to us very fearful. He has come a long way and is ready for the next chapter. He is great with other dogs but has some aggression over food that has gotten MUCH better. I would not recommend him around small children when he's eating. He has free run of the house and I have 13 other dogs here and he's fine with all of them, even my 2 large dogs. He just needs time and patience but is an incredibly sweet boy when he trusts you! He lets me easily pick him up for cuddles and he gives sweet kisses! My groomer does not have issues with grooming him.

He is fully vetted. He is neutered, up to date on shots, hw negative and microchipped. Adoptable to a home with no kids please. He also will need a very secure yard as he is tiny and can easily slip through the smallest opening. No doggy doors for this little one!! He is not potty trained so he wears a belly-band.

Chiko's adoption fee is $275

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
