Hi there, my name is Gable, or Gabe for short and I am a very handsome Shepherd mix, about 10 months old and I weigh 36 lbs. I was born in San Antonio Texas in a litter of 4 and we were only 6 days old when the city animal services picked us up as strays. Unfortunately, we were all placed on their euthanasia list but as luck would have it, a 4 Little Paws Rescue foster couldn't bear to see that happen so she brought all of us home. Our Mama is a pretty black and tan Shepherd mix weighing 40 lbs and she did a wonderful job raising us. When we were old enough, we all moved to Connecticut so we could find forever families in the Northeast and now I am having fun and making new friends at my foster home.
I am a very nice boy, a little shy at first, but once I know you, I'm a sweetheart and very loyal. I am affectionate with my people and love snuggling and doggy kisses. I get along great with other dogs and enjoy playtime and I make a very nice playmate. I understand dog social cues so I am respectful when other dogs do not feel like playing, and will find a doggy toy to play with or simply take a nap. I love family outings and walks and hikes and I have good energy for any activities. I am hoping to find a forever home where I get to be part of the family. If you are thinking I may be the pup for you, please stop by to meet me!
* We encourage you to send us an email with your #1, #2, and #3 choices, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! Also, please continue watching our listings as we post new dogs multiple times a week. There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
