My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mario, age 14, has been through a lot on his life. His dog mama went into a memory care facility, and then his dog father went into assisted living due to a combination of health issues. The owner's son travels constantly for work and knew if he took Mario in, the poor guy would be living in and out of boarding facilities. The family wanted more for him, so they reached out to us. Our rescue assists terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets.

Needless to say, with all the changes in his life, Mario is pretty sad. He needs an owner that will be patient as he mourns and transitions as Mario spent his entire life with his owners. He is a sweet boy that is good with cats, dogs, and well-mannered kids that can be gentle with him. He really just wants to the center of attention with his person getting lots of love and attention. He is housebroken.

Mario has been to the same vet his whole life and comes with 78 pages of vet records. He is fixed, vaccinated, and recently had a dental cleaning. He does have the early stages of congestive heart failure, and, although he shows no symptoms, he will need an owner capable of transporting and budgeting for prescription medications and regular vet care.
