My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When his owner was ill, Bandit loyally laid on his bed with him, keeping him company as his illness progressed. Once his owner passed away, Bandit was tossed outside as he was no longer wanted or needed. Thankfully, his foster mom heard of his situation, where he was actually sleeping in a box in the garage in the chilly temperatures. She took this loyal kitty into her house and contacted our rescue. Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets, including after the owner has passed away.

Bandit is 5 years old, fixed, current on vaccinations, had full bloodwork, and microchipped. He is completely healthy and has excellent litterbox habits. He loves cat nip and his blue feather toy on a stick. Discovering new cat toys is something this curious guy is finally getting to do, as his ill owner was bedbound and unable to get him new toys. He has lived successfully with a large dog and other cats and may be able to do with proper introductions. He met the foster mom's cats and larger dog in the foster home and did well. He really wanted to play with the other cats.

Bandit has a bit of a spicy cat personality. Like many cats, he likes affection on his terms (really, who doesn't?) which means he comes to you for pets and cuddles when he is ready for them. He especially loves the top of his head scratched. He doesn't love being picked up or petting near his tail. He needs a cat savvy owner who knows how to read cat body language and is ok with a cat that comes to them when he is ready for pets and affection. Simply put, Bandit is cat that acts just like cats do.

If you have space in your heart and home for this friendly feline that loyally lived with his owner until his dying day, please contact us at tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application available here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt

More about this rescue

Our mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. Since we help people receiving hospice care, heading into nursing homes, or families after the pet owner died, we often receive older animals. WE value older animals and cherish all that they can offer to their new family. We do not have a physical facility, so we rely on volunteers to foster the pets in their home until they are adopted.
