My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

This is Zeppelin!  Zeppelin is a fluffy love bug with a loud rattling purr and an adorable chirping meow.  He loves people but he wasn't sure how he felt about pets at first, he would give a gentle bite to let us know when he was done.. After a few weeks, he has completely transformed into a total lap cat who LOVES being petted and doesn't bite at all! He has learned to trust humans and he likes everyone he meets, often getting up on his hind legs to greet new people. Zeppelin is inquisitive, friendly, and playful, he does great with other cats and loves tussling with his foster brother before settling down for a snooze.  If interested in adopting this rockin’ cat, apply online at  ahhumanesociety.org  or email Halee at  halee@ahhumanesociety.org  with any questions!

More about this rescue

Appalachian Highlands Humane Society, former known as The Humane Society of Washington County, was primarily an organization that provided spay and neuter funding for low income families. Spay and neutering is still at the front of our organization but we have also incorporated fostering and adoptions of animals. We are committed to see our community to become a no kill community. Our organization is not funded by local government, we rely only on spay neuter grants and fund raising. To continue to grow, we need donations for our programs and those links are available on our website under giving. We also need volunteers. The volunteer application is also available on our website. Working together we will become a no kill community. Please visit our website, www.ahumanesociety.org for more information.
