MEET DELGADO!!

This sweet boy has had a rough start. His original owner died after one year. He ended up in a very chaotic home with drug use. He was never taken on walks or out of the house. He was kept in a crate that was too small for him all day. Because of the terrible treatment, he is under socialized and needs a patient person to love him and give him the home he deserves.

Delgado is very sweet, friendly, and smart. He gets overstimulated very quickly, so he would do best in a calm home without a lot of traffic in and out of the house. When there is too much going on he may cower and shake looking to escape. He did growl at an adoption event due to the chaos and fear he was feeling. He is not aggressive.

Delgado is crate trained, does well in a car and likes to play. He just needs a place with people he can trust, so he can truly be the dog he is meant to be. Delgado’s current foster is raising funds to get him in a 6-week board and train program to help with his under socialization.

Meet Delgado today!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
