My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gus! This big guy had a rough start to life and came to Helping Paws severely emaciated. Thankfully, after some good food and lots of love, he bounced right back and is ready to find the perfect forever home!

Gus is approximately 1 1/2 years old and is a purebred Dogo Argentino - weighing in around 70-75 lbs He's strong, but good on a leash and has literally never met a stranger :) He loves people of all ages, other dogs, and does well with cats. We are requiring his forever home have another dog that likes to wrestle as much as he does. He will annoy older or less energetic dogs if he doesn't have someone to play with. He is still learning not to surf counter tops and chew things up around the house, so his potential adopters will need to understand that and continue working with him. He does fine in a crate, though, so putting him a crate when you can't watch him is the best way to ensure he stays out of trouble ;) He is housetrained and will whine and pace when he needs to go outside. Since he loves to run and play, a fenced in yard would also be an asset.

Gus' adoption fee is $300 and he will come fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He also has had a Proheart 6 injection that protects him from heartworms until December.
