COURTESY POST: Petey, an American Bulldog mix, is about 4 years old and weighs 65 lbs. American Bulldogs are GREAT DOGS! He wants to tell you a little bit about himself. Hello, my name is Petey. I am a very calm and relaxed pup. I do like to run and play with other dogs at doggie day care or playing in the back yard. My two foster brothers are super fun to be with. My favorite game is tug of war and I usually win. Most of the time I relax in the home office with my foster Mom. I do enjoy walks and will bring you my leash when I want to go. I love to smell everything around me, so most walks are an adventure in smells. I am trying to stay on one side of my foster Mom when we walk but some smells are too tempting. I am friendly so I let you know when I am hungry or need attention. I may look tough, but I’m really a big marshmallow and not a guard dog, unless you don’t like kisses then watch out. I also want to cuddle and get scritches on the butt. I am not fond of baths or car rides. Getting a shot at the vet is scary to me and I need help relaxing. I am a love bug, with a big heart to share. Please consider meeting me. I would love to meet you. Please note that we do not recommend Petey to families with children under 6.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
