Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT HAZEL!
What can be said about our Hazel? As our longest resident, Hazel has had the time to show us her many personalities and quirks. It's very hard to find the words to describe our best girl; diva could fit, but she's a little too gritty and real for that. Gremlin, goblin or critter are all acceptable, but they lack a certain refinement and class that befits a lady of Hazel's status. Beautiful, perfect angel would work and usually does, but the way she acts for nail trims may say otherwise.
Hazel's past, much like everything to do with Hazel, is shrouded in mystery. She was brought in to HAP before we were even HAP, scabby, bloody and so angry that we had to give her the presidential suite (aka our wellness room), to decompress before we could even assess her skin. After a day or two, we were able get her seen by our vet team, who decided to treat her skin issues as allergies, though that was a shot in the dark. Eventually, we were able to find out what her allergies were; turkey, beef, every type of dust mite....also German cockroaches and olive trees, though we are pretty confident she can't come into contact with those.
Nowadays, Hazel spends her time as any smart cat does; staring down condescendingly from her tall tower, enjoying her medicated bubble baths, feasting on only the purest forms of seafood pates, and driving around her hot pink Maserati, that was certainly not an irresponsible and reckless use of our employee's personal funds, it was very necessary.
Since Hazel has been with us soooooo long, we have sent her on a few vacations with our amazing fosters. Here are their glowing reviews for Miss Hazel:
"She is still as sweet as can be!! I sleep in her room 1-2 nights a week so that she can enjoy nighttime cuddles. She has seen my cats and the majority of the time she doesn't mind them. A few times she has hissed at them/back at them. Over the holiday, she was able to meet my nieces and nephew and did really well! She just loves attention!! Her newest thing is asking for belly rubs!"
If you are looking for a lifetime of laughs, smacks and never being in charge of your lap again, come meet Hazel. Even if you aren't, come meet her anyways!
*Hazel is on a monthly allergy shot, which she takes like a champ! She will likely need to stay on it forever, though we always recommend getting a second (or third!) opinion from your own vet.
*Hazel goes back and forth on whether she likes other cats or not, but we think she can get over herself enough to coexist happily...she can't aim well enough to land a hit anyway. We think she'd probably be fine with any dog that allows her to boss them around. She does okay with kids, but she is sharp, so please warn any small hands in the house.
*If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process is designed to help you and your family find the perfect match in a pet. When the right match is made, we strive to conduct our adoptions thoughtfully, transparently, and with the utmost respect. You can view and submit an adoption questionnaire online ahead of your visit by going to our website: humaneanimalpartners.org. A questionnaire is not required to come visit us, but we will have you fill one out if interested in meeting with our animals. We strive to make the best match possible for you and for the animals. Most of our pets can go home same-day and come vaccinated, spay/neutered, and microchipped.
