My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barney is a smart, affectionate, and energetic 2-year-old pup looking for a home where he can thrive both physically and emotionally. He has a high energy level and loves to stay active—whether that’s chasing his favorite toys, going on brisk walks, or engaging in mentally stimulating training sessions. Barney is happiest when he has a routine and plenty of opportunities to move and explore, so he’ll need a home that can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. He walks beautifully on a leash, especially when provided with good structure and consistent guidance. He responds well to calm, confident handlers and finds comfort in clear expectations, which helps him feel secure and focused. Barney already knows his basic commands and is eager to learn more with someone who’s patient and experienced enough to continue his training. He’s not a beginner dog, but for someone with moderate dog experience, Barney is a rewarding companion who loves to work and please. Socially, Barney is dog selective—he doesn’t get along with every dog, so introductions should be done slowly and thoughtfully. He might enjoy a relationship with a well-matched, calm dog, but he'd also do great as the only pet, soaking up all the attention. He’s not suitable for homes with children, as he can become overstimulated by unpredictable energy and needs a calm, adult-only environment to feel safe and settled. What makes Barney extra special is his deep love for people. He absolutely adores cuddling once he bonds with you and will happily curl up after a day of play and learning. His ideal home is one that can balance affection and activity—someone who can give him structure, attention, and lots of love. If you’re not quite ready to adopt, Barney is also available for foster, and would benefit greatly from the stability and one-on-one care a foster home can provide. Barney is ready to be someone’s loyal, loving, and fun companion. If you’re an active individual or couple looking for a smart, cuddly, and devoted dog, Barney just might be your perfect match.
