My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mavis, a young feline with a heart full of sweetness. Her playful spirit is contagious, and her mellow nature provides a comforting presence. Mavis came into the rescue with her mom and siblings. She's a little shy, but that's just part of her charm. With time, patience, and love, she'll soon feel at home in your arms. Mavis's playful antics are sure to brighten up your day, while her mellow moments offer a soothing respite. Every pet deserves a loving home, and Mavis is no exception. She's ready to share her sweetness and playfulness with a family who will cherish her. Adopt Mavis, and let her fill your home with love, laughter, and tranquility.

More about this shelter

Dixie Adoptables is a 501c3 rescue, operating the Lucedale Animal Shelter in Lucedale, MS. We travel up to the north monthly with all of our adopted pets.
Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.
