My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Penny, a gentle soul with a heart full of love She's a bit shy at first, but once she warms up to you, her affectionate nature shines through. Penny was a mother who came into the rescue as a stray with a litter of kittens. She took excellent care of them and is now searching for her own family. Her calm demeanor makes her an excellent fit for a peaceful home. Adopt Penny and experience the pure, unconditional love only a pet can offer.

More about this shelter

Dixie Adoptables is a 501c3 rescue, operating the Lucedale Animal Shelter in Lucedale, MS. We travel up to the north monthly with all of our adopted pets.
Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.
