My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chip chip hooray! This sweet and mellow boy is celebrating the fact that he's ready for his forever home! There's not much that Chip doesn't like. He loves every dog he meets, loves kids (older preferred--he sometimes forgets his size), and loves all people--he's just a happy guy who wants all the attention!

-The Basics: Born 05/27/2023; 55 pounds

-Personality: Sweet, quirky, and loving

- Favorite things: Exploring, going on long walks, playing in the sandbox and with the water hose. But his favorite thing ever is sticks! He makes it his mission to find every good stick on walks as a treasure.

- Training: Chip walks well on a leash (but he's gotta make sure he sniffs all the things!) He knows how to sit, sleep through the night in a crate, comes when called, and rides well in the car because he knows he's going on an adventure!

- Other dogs: He's loved every dog he's ever met! He matches the energy of his playmate: if the other dog is mellow, he'll play at their speed.

- Perfect home: Chip is an amazing family dog. would love a dog playmate and a yard full of sticks (and maybe even a splash pad or sandbox!). Most importantly, he wants humans he can give all of his love to.

- Why you'll fall in love: He is gorgeous and all around such an amazing puppy, he's got dazzling hazel eyes, a beautiful brindle coat, and a heart full of love.

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
