Have a thing for sweet Southern gentlemen? Brace yourself, because Jaxon will steal your heart! He was adopted as a puppy but was found dumped on a dangerously hot summer day. But he doesn't let his past get him down--this sweetheart loves his people and thrives on cuddles and affection.

This 8-year-old hunk (and chunk) is truly dreamy. He's:
- Well-mannered, like any good Southern gentleman
- Great on a leash, in the car, and well, everywhere!
- Friendly with other dogs (but no cats, please!)
- Calm, easy-going, and mellow
- Always excited to see the people he loves

More about this rescue

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.

We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.

The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
