My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cashmere is such a fun-loving girl! She LOVES water and a pool is really must for this girl in the summer time! But she also enjoys racing around the yard with her boyfriends. She does like to the "girl in charge" and can be quite bossy with other females so will need to go to a home with an active male dog to keep her company. Cashmere came from a hoarder situation with over 50 dogs in the house so has never lived without other canines around so being an only dog won't be an option for her. Although slightly tentative in new situations and with new people, she warms up quickly and just loves getting attention. She is ecstatic when you pet her and tell her how smart she is. Cashmere is a high energy girl so a fenced in yard is a must so that she run and play with her new boyfriend as much as she wants. She does well on a leash with an occasional need for gentle coaxing if she is entering a new environment, llke entering the vet's office.
Cashmere's adoption fee is $200; she is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. Applications can be completed at waldosmuttleycrew.org . (Indianapolis area)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees generally range from $100-$250. We require completion of an application after which we proceed with a verbal interview, make personal and veterinary reference checks, then conduct a home visit to verify that the home is pet-friendly and safe. Upon approval of an application, we require the signing of an adoption agreement contract which specifies that appropriate care will be taken of the animal in question as well as requiring return of the pet to the organization if the adopters are unable to keep it at some point in the future.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application. You can find that application on our website -- www.waldosmuttleycrew.org -- click on "Applications", then "Adoption Application". This is no way obligates you to adopt, but it helps to determine if a particular rescue would be a good fit for your family.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people who, first and foremost, love animals and want to assist dogs & cats in need. We attempt to educate people concerning appropriate pet care as well as the importance of spay/neuter in order to address the severe over-population of these animals in the U.S.
Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative.

E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application.

All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. If the dog had additional medical issues, those have also been addressed. Visit our website www.waldosmuttleycrew.org for more information and to complete an application.
