My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This energetic young adult dog is full of love to give. I am amazed at how well behaved this dog is (of course, I don't know his background). Mack gets in his kennel very easy with food as a reward. He is house trained, can walk on a leash well, plays fetch excellent, sits and lays down on command. He is good with other dogs and doesn't get excited by the next door cat.

I've exposed Mack to children of all ages 2, 3, 6, 8 etc. and men and woman. He meets lots of dogs on his walk and we attended the event at Arbor Creek this past Saturday where he had more exposure to strange events. I do notice that Mack is timid around men and lots of busy activities (like at Arbor Creek). Mack flinches when someone has something in their hands and waives it near Mack.

He doesn't chew on anything but every now and then (very rare) does his mischief come out and he'll drag a shoe out of the closet (but again, he doesn't chew). He has his toys and he knows to chew on them. Mack was either in a house before and trained or he is very smart and picks up quickly on my commands.

The vet would like to see Mack gain a few more pounds and I am certain I am helping him do that. He gets a treat each day when he 'kennel's up'. Mack is a good boy! I love him already. My friends and family state how cute this dog is and how well behaved he is.

Now Mack does still have puppy energy and tends to mouth people's hands (I am trying to break him of this bad habit) and he does get over excited and jumps on people. He needs more work on 'off' when he gets hyper because he just can't control the amount of love he has to give people. Mack and I play fetch and he is very good and bringing the ball back AND dropping it for me to pick up. We also go on a nightly walk and I think Mack loves this exercise. He is a joy to watch run and I think that is what he really likes to do. He has amazing speed and big ol tongue that flops everywhere when he runs. He is funny!

A personal note is that Mack has to literally touch me. Not all the time. But there are times when he is very affectionate and he'll sit by me and stretch is paw across my lap. He has done it to many of my friends and my family too. Everything adores this behavior. It is too cute.

Mack is laying on the floor next to my desk while I type this. He is a good boy and would be wonderful to a wonderful family.
