I will do anything for treats so I know that I'll learn fast! Food and toys are my faves so if I show some behaviors that you don't like, you can easily distract me when you're teaching me how to have good manners.
I had a rough start in life and was found running around on my own. I want a family who will care for me my whole life and I promise to do everything I can to be the best boy ever!
If you think your dog would like romping around with me, bring them and the whole family to meet me! I would be ok in a home without other dogs if you promise to play with me a lot!
If you would like to meet me, please submit an application for me on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. I am neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $300, which covers all of the medical care I have received.
**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Approve Application
Once we receive your application, we will review it and can contact you to possibly meet the animal.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
If the application is approved and any additional paperwork is received (ie. lease, apartment contract), you will be scheduled to visit.

Take the Pet Home
After entire family meets the pet and everyone is approving of the adoption, the animal can go to its new home!

FMAR is an no-kill 501 C 3 tax-exempt all breed dog and cat rescue, and like you, we are concerned about the welfare of the animals and the families that adopt them. We will require paperwork to be filled out and a consultation with the entire family before an animal is adopted. We reserve the right to deny any adoption that we feel is not safe or comfortable for either the animal or potential adopter.

Without our generous supporters, we could not do the work we do for the Belleville, Sumpter, Van Buren Twp., and other surrounding areas. We pride ourselves in being a part of our community and giving back wherever we can.
