My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I'm Turner! I'm an 11-month-old Terrier mix! I'm always ready to play, my tail wagging with joy. My ears perk up at the sound of laughter, and I'm curious about everything. I can't see very well and our clinic staff would like to talk to my new adopters about what that means for me. Even though I can't see the world like you do, I experience it in my own special way! My nose guides me to new friends and exciting places. I may stumble sometimes, but I always get back up ready for the next adventure! I've got a lot of love to give, and I promise to make you laugh with my goofy antics. Will you please give me a chance to show you how loving I am?

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
