My story

Hi! My name is Calliope which means beautiful voice in Greek, but my friends call me Callie. I’m a low riding beagle/cattle dog mix who was rescued from a Kentucky shelter.

I love people of all shapes and sizes, and cuddling on the couch is my favorite hobby! I sleep perfectly in my crate all night, and while I do get a burst of loud energy when I first see my humans, I quickly calm down and just hang by their sides. I’m overall a medium- low energy dog; I walk perfectly on a leash and like taking short strolls around the block.

I live with a cat, but I chased it once and now it is afraid of me; so while I might be okay with a cat, I just am not 100% sure about them.

I am still a little shy, so if you are big and loud I’ll probably roll over and play possum. However, I love having a dog friend to play with, as long as they aren’t too intimidating.

I’m learning sit and come, and I’d love to find a forever family who can keep teaching me things and gives me all the pets and treats I want! Apply to adopt me today! Adoption fee is $250. She is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
