My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daruk is a handsome, athletic dog with a bit of a dramatic origin story- he was out on the town and managed to get himself caught in a fence. A rescue mission ensued and he was cut free and saved! Now that he’s had some time to reflect on his ordeal, he’ll try to avoid tangles with fencing in the future. And while he appreciates the folks who brought him safely to PACC, Daruk thinks life in the shelter is just not for him. That’s where you come in! This boy is ready to pack his tennis balls and chew bones and move out of PACC and in with you today!

Daruk took a two week foster vacation- here’s what his foster said about him:

“Daruk is an extremely affectionate dog once you gain his trust. He loves climbing on your lap and giving kisses. He travels great… he prefers to ride shotgun in the front passenger seat and is extremely well behaved (the perfect gentleman). Daruk is easy to walk and really enjoys going for walks. He can be a little reactive towards cars (I live on a well-traveled road) but he takes corrections well. Daruk showed no signs of trying to escape when confined in my yard (no attempts to scale 5’ fence or digging under the fence). Daruk is a little wary when meeting new people and does not like strangers reaching over his head, but once he trusts you, he has no problem with it. Daruk’s two favorite things are playing with his favorite ball and rolling around on grass. He absolutely loves it and gets the zoomies after rolling around. He is also very housebroken and loves being with his person. He was quiet and well behaved , only barking to let me know if I had a visitor. Daruk has so many positives…really love this boy!”

And here’s what some of his volunteer friends had to say about him:

“I’ve been walking Daruk 2-3 times a week and he’s doing great. He’s always waiting eagerly at his kennel door to go out but is calm and easy to leash. He exits his kennel smoothly and is great out on his walk. He’s athletic and strong, but not a major puller. He’s one of my favorite dogs to walk!”

“Daruk is calm in his kennel and easy to leash. He enjoys treats and especially string cheese. He’s a fun boy to walk, knows sit, and is working on cues for look, come and touch. He is a very focused walker and also gives great puppy kisses. He is very sweet and a real pleasure to walk.”

“I introduced myself to Daruk this afternoon. I leashed him up easily and found Daruk to be very calm and attentive, and he loved t
