Hi, I’m Lyrica! I’m a smart, energetic girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for my people. I’m very people-friendly and enjoy soaking up attention—whether that’s praise, adventure time, or just being included in whatever you’re doing. I walk pretty well on a leash and love getting out and about, especially when it means I get to stretch my legs and use my brain.
I’m a higher-energy dog and I truly shine when I have regular exercise and something to do. Agility training, structured play, learning new skills, or having a “job” would be right up my alley. I’m highly intelligent and eager to learn, so I’d do great with someone who enjoys training and wants a dog who can keep up both mentally and physically.
When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit selective. With proper introductions, I can join play groups and do well, but I’ll thrive most with an adopter who understands dog interactions and is willing to set me up for success.

Adopters must present photo identification and fill out an application. Adopted pets can go home the same day. Our adoption fees range from free to $100. You will also pay for a $20 microchip and $15.00 rabies. Check out our "Specials" on our Facebook page and Website. Pets not yet spayed or neutered will have a $100 refundable deposit added to the adoption fee.

Our shelter is located at 141 Canna Lane in Lake Jackson. We also have cats available for adoption at the PetCo, PetSuperMarket and PetSmart in Lake Jackson.
We are open Monday through Fridays from 8AM until 5PM and Saturdays from 10-3.

The SPCA of Brazoria County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to leading Brazoria County to a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community.
Founded in 1974, the SPCA-BC has operated the Southern Brazoria County Animal Shelter since 2003. The Shelter is an open admission facility serving the Cities of Freeport, Clute, and Lake Jackson, Texas.
In order to reach our vision of “No More Homeless Pets,” the SPCA-BC is focused on four primary objectives:
Education. All animals have value and should be treated with compassion and respect. We believe in promoting responsible pet ownership, teaching children compassion toward animals, fostering a community of support for animal welfare, and bringing animal welfare issues to the forefront of community awareness.
Spay/Neuter. The only way to break the cycle of pet overpopulation in our community is to prevent unwanted pets from ever being born. Spayed and neutered pets are healthier, happier, and make better companions. We are committed to providing low-cost, high-volume spay and neuter procedures to our community.
Adoption. Adoptions are vital to our life-saving mission. Every pet deserves a loving home. We work hard each day to find homes for the homeless pets in our care.
A World-Class Shelter. Every pet deserves a home, but the reality is that there are thousands of homeless pets right here in our own community. We provide shelter, medical care, and a place of refuge for homeless pets as they wait to find their forever homes.
