My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Buttercup, and I'm a soft-spoken feline with a heart full of dreams and a spirit as delicate as a flower petal. While I might be a bit shy initially, I'm ready to blossom with the right person by my side. I believe that patience and understanding can work wonders, and I'm excited to find someone who'll give me the time I need to fully come into my own.

Let me tell you about my inseparable bond with Princess Robin, my beloved sister. We've shared our days, our adventures, and our quiet moments, and we're each other's constant source of comfort. When you adopt me, you're not just bringing home one shy cat - you're welcoming two soulmates who will enrich your life in countless ways.

While I might take a little while to warm up, the promise of treats and the gentle rustle of toys will surely coax me out of my shell. And once you earn my trust, you'll find that I have a heart as big as the sky, filled with love waiting to be shared.

The perfect home for me is one that radiates patience and kindness, a sanctuary where I can gradually reveal my true self. If you're willing to be my guiding light through this journey, I'm confident that I can become the confident and affectionate companion you've been searching for.

Of course, my dream home would include both my sister Princess Robin and myself. Our bond is a special one, and we find solace in each other's company. Together, we promise twice the cuddles, twice the companionship, and twice the love.

Are you the patient and understanding adopter I've been hoping for? Can you provide the gentle encouragement and nurturing environment that will help me thrive? If so, I'm excited to embark on this heartwarming adventure together, where we'll learn, grow, and build a bond that will last a lifetime.

Go meet their pets

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently holding in-person adoption events. Most of our cats are in foster homes and we are doing virtual meet-and-greets with them.

We also have adoptable cats at our two partner cat cafes – CatCafe Lounge (https://www.catcafelounge.com/) in West Los Angeles and Cat Therapy (https://www.cattherapysb.com/) in Santa Barbara. You can make a reservation on their websites, or we can arrange a meeting by appointment once you have filled-out our application and spoken to our team.

More about this rescue

Stray Cat Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on educating and empowering communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued. Everyday, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support. Our goals are to:

-Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education.
-Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs.
-Help shelters transform from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures.
-Educate the community about the plight of free‐roaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter.
-Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no-kill through our grassroots programs.

Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
