Rome is a happy guy! Rome dances when we come home, happy to see us. He seems to always be smiling. He is missing several teeth, but we love his goofy snaggletooth smile.
Rome follows us from room to room, always curious about what we are doing. He likes to chew on benebones and take naps. He is really a mellow dude. He is still somewhat timid, and we have to approach him slowly and let him know we are going to pick him up. He might retreat to his safe space and sit waiting for us to pick him up, but this is happening less and less frequently. Once he realizes he is safe, he leans in for cuddles and scratches. He goes in and out the patio door for his business with no issue.
After dinner, Rome likes to curl up in my lap. He settles in for almost an hour then jumps down to the floor to lay nearby. He barks at me and dances if I am taking too long to sit down. He will also bark to remind us about dinner time and bedtime. He likes to go to bed around 9:30 pm and sleeps in his crate through the night.
