My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mugsy, the 7 year old, 13lb Shih Tzu! He's the sweetest guy! He loved to snuggle with other dogs and is super friendly.

If you are looking for a handsome, loving older shih tzu mix you have found one! I am neutered, microchipped, heart-worm negative, and vaccinated! My foster mom has other small dogs and I prefer to be with just a female of my size or by myself. Especially since I don't like to share my food or have another dog near me when I eat. I'm looking for a laid back home. My ideal home would be one without kids as they are a bit too much for me to deal with. Cats make me a little too excited as well, so a home without those would be best. I'm always excited to get attention and love by the humans caring for me! As an older gentleman I bring a more calm and relaxed energy to a home, but I still love to have time to play by running around chasing toys! I'm crate and harness trained. I like to decorate my crate with lots of toys! My foster mom says I'm a toy hoarder! If you're ready to have an adorable companion who loves you please consider adopting me so we can start our new life together!

Adoption fee is: $350

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
