My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jed the Irresistible: Looking for a Fur-ever Home!

Hey there, future family! My name is Jed, and I'm a 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Don't let my solid 75lbs fool you, I'm just a big teddy bear looking for love and belly rubs. I may have been surrendered by my previous owners because I didn't get along with other animals, but that's because I prefer human company. I am a people pleaser and will be your best friend in no time!

I have an active side, but also love to chill on the couch with my humans. As long as I have a strong handler, I can be your adventure buddy or your snuggle partner. Speaking of snuggles, I am potty trained and ready to be your loyal companion.

I am an extroverted, social butterfly who loves all humans. However, I do better with older children and would prefer to be the only animal in the home. Hey, it just means I get all the attention, right? Plus, my charming and quirky personality will keep you entertained and my affectionate nature will melt your heart.

Sure, I may have some behavioral needs, but don't we all? I promise to make it up to you with my easygoing and gentle demeanor. So, why wait? Come meet me and see for yourself how much fun we can have together. Make me part of your family and I'll promise to be your loyal and loving Jed forever.

Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet me or one of our friends! 928-282-4679.

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
