This little girl was adopted and returned. She seems to get stressed out with other pets and then does not use her litter box.
She has had a few accidents since being returned BUT, we took her to the vet Thursday Oct 19, 2023 and think we have a solution. The vet ran blood work, did a urinalysis, and xrays to insure that nothing is physically wrong. He thinks this is behavioral and her way to showing she is upset, anxious, and out of sorts. He has put her on Fluoxetine (Prozac). Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by keeping serotonin levels higher in the body, which can help to improve mood and a sense of well-being. She is only on 1/4 of a pill so over the course of a year, it costs about $50-$60. Worth every penny.
She is a very slender, siamese-build, and petite kitty. We have tried her in a home with other pets, now we are going to consider adopting into a more quiet, less active environment. With a low key household, we are hopeful that over time and once she has adjusted, you can wean her off the meds. Just like people, we only want to use meds if it is necessary.
Okay, enough of the med info. As far as this kitty is concerned, she is adorable. She is sweet, loving, gentle, and a great companion. ***SHE IS GUARANTEED! IF FOR ANY REASON IT DOESN'T WORK OUT, WE WANT HER BACK.
