Draco may be the best Eeyore impersonator we've met! Those eyes tell of an old soul. His past life may not have given him much joy, but he now has a new chance at a better life! A low-energy and humble fellow, Draco is easy on a leash and loves to lean against his favorite people. No need to worry about silly puppy antics - he is a cool and calm customer. Draco likes the lady dogs, but wants to be the handsomest (only) boy in the home. So far, he hasn't shown an interest in toys or play. Like to watch the world go by? Watching is better with Draco by your side.

The adoption fee for dogs includes vaccinations (DA2PLP+CV, Bordatella, Rabies) spaying/neutering, heartworm check, deworming, heartworm prevention, flea preventative, and microchip.

The adoption fee for cats includes a full exam (feleck/FIV tested, FVRCP), spaying/ neutering, rabies, deworming, and flea preventative.

If you wish to adopt a pet you will need to fill out an adoption application. You can either pick one up at the shelter or email the shelter to request an application be emailed to you.

The Calhoun County Humane Society, Inc. (dba The Animal Shelter), located in Anniston, Alabama, was established in 1973 as a result of the efforts of Susan Levens Phillips.

Our mission is
