My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is out on a field trip today and might not be available for viewing at the shelter, give us a call if you're interested in adopting.

Hi, I'm Sissy! I'm about 2 years old and weigh 37 pounds. I have a behavior waiver that staff can discuss with you when you come to meet me!

Do you like...

Dogs? I've had mixed reactions towards other dogs. I would do best in a single dog household. I do tend to prefer dogs my size or bigger.

Cats? I have a high prey drive and I am looking for a home without small animals, including kitties.

Kids? I'm nervous with new folks and would do best meeting kiddos who can be patient and respectful with me. (10+)

Anything else you'd like us to know, Sissy? New environments are scary, and I would do best with a fenced backyard. I bond hard to my people and become pretty stressed when left alone - for that reason I would do best with someone who has lots of time to spend with me. I can get nervous with new things and would probably do well in an experienced dog home with someone who can work with me on training, and some of my behaviors.

** Here is what a volunteer says about me:
"Sissy is such a gentle, friendly dog. I really enjoy spending time with her." **

I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.

It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption.

My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!

ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license.

More about this shelter

Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.

Last year, we helped reunite or find new loving homes for 2,826 animals. In addition, we provided 469 cat spay/neuter surgeries to assist cat caregivers in reducing feral cat over-population.

Greenhill is a private non-profit and relies on donations for a majority of its budget. The generosity of our local community enables us to provide a high level of care to lost, abandoned, and neglected animals while at the same time helping pet owners in need.
