Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“MURPHY” is a red, oversized (hard to find) Miniature Poodle puppy who was born approximately June 1, 2023. He weighs a healthy 13.6 pounds and stands at 14” tall, measuring from the floor to his withers. So as an adult, he will weigh approximately about 16 pounds and stand around 16” tall.
He is going to be larger than the AKC Standards of Perfection for a Miniature, but smaller than a Standard Poodle.
This cute puppy boy comes to us from family who were moving and could not take their Poodle puppy with them.
Murphy is a very soft, loving, cuddly Poodle who craves attention from people. He loves men as well as women, will sit on your feet while you watch TV or work on your computer, plays with toys while scattering them around the house, watch the squirrels on our deck, will follow you everywhere you go and then greatly enjoy sitting in your lap while being hugged and loved.
However he is also an active, normal puppy that enjoys chasing any of our other Poodles that can tolerate his silly behavior. He loves to do the “Poodle Zoomies” while encouraging our Standard Poodle “Lola” to join him in the fun.
Murphy is a quiet boy and has been by himself, but does enjoy being around other quiet, gentle, silly, and loving dogs. We have found that our smaller and older Toy Poodles will hide from him as all he wants to do is have fun, like (again) a normal Poodle puppy.
This is also an extremely smart boy! He knows the word “NO!”, comes when he hears the treat bag being rattled, knows when it’s time to eat (very food motivated), has kept his kennel clean and is doing so very good with his housetraining.
*While Murphy is leash trained, a securely fenced yard will be given priority as this puppy boy (as all dogs) love to run.
*You must be physically able to handle, teach (come, sit, stay) and socialize a smart, puppy.
*Preference will be given to a family with past Poodle and/or puppy experience.
PLEASE:
*NO cats (he will chase them).
*NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare him and me).
*NO young children (this is your new child).
*Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
Murphy is up to date with his vaccinations, worming and recently met with our veterinarian for a puppy check-up.
NOTICE: Because Murphy is under 6 months old, we have scheduled his neutering and rabies vaccination for Monday, December 11th. You will need to return Murphy to us on Sunday (December 10th) for that appointment and then you can pick him up from Barrington Oaks Veterinarian Clinic in Elk River after his surgery on Monday.
As with all our Poodles, Murphy’s adoption fee is one million, trillion, zillion dollars. However, for the right family his adoption fee is $850.00 which includes $59.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax.
In addition to the Vet work, his leash, collar, a cute puppy harness, a large kennel, a bag of quality puppy food, treats, various dog toys in a toy box, a new soft bed and fuzzy blanket along with lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw is included.
