My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This most handsome boy is Xander. He is extremely people-oriented, and nothing makes him happier than spending time with his most favorite PAWS staff and volunteers! Xander is a confident, loving, and extremely loyal friend. He is very sensitive and highly intelligent, a combination which unfortunately causes him great stress living at the shelter. The good news is, Xander has been loved by many foster families and we know he absolutely THRIVES in a home environment. Here are some glowing notes from one of his recent foster parents:

"I was so lucky to foster Xander, he is absolutely awesome. First of all, his impeccable manners and listening skills make him a perfect houseguest. He is 100% potty trained and he is not destructive whatsoever, he is very respectful inside our home. Beyond being a perfect houseguest, Xander is an absolute blast to have around! He has so much personality, he LOVES toys and is very playful. He carried his stuffed animal squid with him everywhere he went. He also loves playing fetch and going on walks. After playtime he doesn't mind settling right down and cuddling up for a nap (or 10) throughout the day. He is very sweet and affectionate during down time. I absolutely loved fostering Xander!! He is just the sweetest, funniest boy and I miss him already!"

At 3 years old, Xander still has youthful energy but he also appreciates the finer things in life, such as quiet time and a soft bed to relax in. He has lived peacefully with other dogs in previous foster homes, but he can be reactive to strange dogs through a fence. He also bonds very strongly with his caretakers, and he might show wariness towards new people. But with some patience and delicious treats, he soon comes around and expands his circle of trust. Xander is such a good boy with so much love to give; he is beyond ready to meet his new family and spend the rest of his life completely devoted to them!
