DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Meet CoCo! This charming hound mix has a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. CoCo was originally adopted as a puppy but returned in early 2023 when his family could no longer care for him. He's been making great progress ever since. He takes a few slow, positive introductions to trust new people and can be shy at first, but he’s warmed up beautifully to everyone at the shelter. He lights up when familiar faces approach, wiggling his whole body, grumbling with joy, and even giving a happy little hop when it’s time for a walk. Due to an ACL injury, CoCo is currently on the mend and attending regular therapy, where he’s become comfortable and cooperative with the staff helping him recover. CoCo knows basic commands and walks well on leash and gets super excited if he spots a friend during a walk! He prefers to be the only animal in the home, as he can be selective and reactive around other dogs, especially during his recovery. He’s happiest soaking up the sun, playing gently with soft toys, and building lasting bonds with people who take the time to get to know him. CoCo is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue healing and feel safe and loved. If you're ready for a loyal companion who will return your love tenfold, CoCo might just be your perfect match.
