My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mabel has had a rough life. At 5 years of age she was brought to the Humane Society of St Thomas as a stray. She had horrible mange, extremely malnourished, green discharge coming out of her eyes, heartworm positive and heavily pregnant. Mabel had to be spayed immediately, even though she was full term pregnancy because of her poor health.
Mabel needed our help!
Mabel is so very sweet and people and kid friendly. She is reactive to cats and is dog selective when she encounters other dogs as she was crated so much of the time in St Thomas due to her health. Since arriving at Pet Search, her skin is looking better, she has started her heartworm treatment (which is fully covered with her adoption fee) and she just wants to be held, kissed and snuggled!
Mabel loves to walk and is now realizing what "play means! She is around 40 pounds, so she is very manageable in size and weight to pick up., since she lives to sit on your lap!
This very sweet girl needs a special person who will appreciate and cherish the love she has to share

More about this rescue

Pet Search is an all-volunteer, non-euthanizing rescue and placement service that has been in Washington County since 1985. Pet Search's philosophy is that all pets deserve a second chance for a hoe and love. Pet Search has chosen not to use a shelter-type environment with kennels and cages, but perfers to "home shelter" animals with volunteers in private homes. Pet Search is a privately funded organization, relying on the generousity of fellow animal lovers.
Pet Search provides the following programs:
* Animal Rescue and Placement/ Adoptions
* Fundraising
* Homeless and Feral Cat Trapping (aluminum recycling is used to fund this program)
* Humane Education
* Pet Therapy
* Rabies Plus Clinic- Low Cost inoculations (three times a year)
* Community Service Opportunities for students
* Other Public service programs, such as the Blessing of the Animals in October
FOSTER HOMES AND VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS WELCOME!!!
