My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello fabulous humans, it's me, Martina! I'm a radiant red Doberman Pincher who's all set to find my forever home. I've got the brains and the beauty-training me will be an absolute dream. From "sit" to "stay" to "down," I'm already ahead of the curve, but I could use a bit more training to help focus my boundless excitement.

Now, let's get real. I adore people and their cuddles so much that I'd prefer to be your one and only canine queen. That's right, a single-dog home is what I'm after! However, don't be fooled; I do enjoy a good play session with male dogs, especially those who can keep up with my tomboyish antics. I just can't share my home with them, you know? I also must admit, I'm not the best fit for a home with small dogs or cats.

When it comes to the great outdoors, I'm your ultimate hiking buddy or exercise partner. If adventure is your thing, then we're a match made in heaven. I'm always up for a ride, and I travel oh-so-well in cars, so think of all the places we could go!

If you're ready for a lifetime of affection, play, and a bit of elegant Doberman flair, then don't wait another minute. Fill out an online adoption application for me, and an ACT representative will get back to you. Can't wait to start our happily ever after!

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
