My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Twix, a 3-year-old bundle of joy who perfectly balances affection, obedience, and a zest for life. Weighing in at a perfect 55 lbs, Twix is the ideal companion for both laid-back cuddles and outdoor adventures. Her beautiful coat and expressive eyes make her as eye-catching as she is heartwarming. She's got basic training under her belt, making her an obedient and intelligent addition to any household.

Twix's playful spirit is truly infectious. Whether you're hiking through trails or enjoying a casual walk, she's always ready to be your adventure buddy. But don't be fooled by her athletic prowess-she's equally content showering you with cuddles and affection at home. If you're seeking a versatile companion who can keep up with an active lifestyle while providing endless love, Twix is your girl. Twix is able to jump and climb fences, so she should not be left alone in the yard.

While Twix is a social butterfly when it comes to humans she knows, she can be a bit reserved around strangers. But give her some time and patience, and she'll soon show you her loving and loyal nature. It's worth noting that while Twix thrives in human company, she prefers to be the only pet in the home-she's selective about her four-legged friends and would rather not share her living space with cats or smaller dogs.

Twix is currently staying with us at Animal Compassion Team, where she's winning hearts and patiently waiting for her forever home. If you think you could be the right match for this extraordinary girl, we invite you to reach out for a meet-and-greet. She's up-to-date on all her vaccinations and is ready to make a seamless transition into her new forever family. Is there room in your heart for Twix?

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
