My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Note about Callum from the people who know him best.

Callum was just a tiny kitten when he was found in a Love's parking lot. He had some grease on his face, his whiskers were all crumpled on one side, and he had a broken tip of his tail (little did we know he also had ear mites and worms, yay!). He only took a few minutes to coax into my lap with some treats. As soon as he was given food and in a safe space indoors he blossomed into the most loving cat there ever was. He will rub on your face, stare in your eyes, and absolutely loves being held. In addition to watching everything to be seen out the windows, he loves chasing a wand and will play and rub up on toys (he loves the catnip infused ones). When he had his trip to the vet to get tested, treated, and get his vaccines (and then his subsequent trip to get neutered), it found every single one of vet staff absolutely gushing over him and saying he made their day!

He got along with the dogs in the household quickly. He really likes the 70lb dog, although she doesn't like him much at all. He rubs up on her and (very gently) tries to play, but sadly she does not reciprocate. He steers clear of the 10lb elderly dog as she has made it clear she doesn't want him in her space and he respects that. I do feel he would love a house with dogs that are cat friendly. Unfortunately he is not great with the four cats in the household. He would prefer to be the only cat or potentially with another laid back cat who will let him be the boss.

Callum loves people and will quickly become your new best friend!

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
