The Many Faces of Our Little Star
Sweet, sassy, and full of fire—Star is a pint-sized husky with a giant personality that’s impossible to ignore. At five years old, she’s mastered the art of being both a cuddle bug and a fearless force of nature.
Star holds her own like a true alpha, showing even the biggest, baddest dogs that she’s not to be messed with. Melissa fondly recalls the day Kavik, one of our most strong-willed huskies, picked a fight with her. Star didn’t just hold her ground—she won. Kavik had to back down, and Star strutted away like the queen she is. Around here, she’s the one who puts the other huskies in their place when they need it.
But don’t be fooled by her fiery side—Star is a total sweetheart when it’s just her and her humans. She loves sunbathing, lounging, and playing with her beloved tennis balls. Her medium energy level means she’s just as happy going on hikes as she is curling up for a quiet evening at home.
Star’s journey to H3 began when she was surrendered to the OKC shelter at three years old due to her escape-artist tendencies. Yet, she hasn’t tried to leave once since coming to us. Perhaps it’s because she feels safe or enjoys being part of the pack here, but we know she’ll thrive even more in a loving home where she can be the star of the show.
With her sass, strength, and undeniable charm, Star is looking for a home that can appreciate the joy and excitement only a spitfire like her can bring.
Star is currently located at Husky Halfway House in Oklahoma. She’s available for adoption throughout the USA (excluding Hawaii and Alaska), with transportation available directly to your door with an approved application.
Don’t miss your chance to bring this unforgettable Star into your life!

More about this shelter
We are committed and wholeheartedly dedicated to providing family and emergency services involving rescuing, sheltering, fostering, vetting, adoption and transportation of
"at risk" or "death row" husky and other large dog breeds.
Our goal is to not only provide these services in larger facilities than we currently have but also to use our resources to educate and raise public awareness on the benefits of properly caring for and keeping their pets and/or adopting from shelters and not shopping from breeders.
Our mission is to share our knowledge on the pro's of spay and neuter, the cons of backyard breeding and provide sound advice and services that help the community manage their day to day with their furry family members. Together, we can greatly reduce the number of unaltered, unvaccinated animals in our communities and put a dent in the homeless population by providing access to family services as well as spay, neuter and chip id programs.
