My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Skye! I'm a very pretty girl who was rescued in Ft Myers after Hurricane Ian blew through, and now I'm at Big Dog Ranch Rescue looking for a furever home! I've come a long way since my rescue, where I used to be unsure of people and the world around me, but I've learned just how much I love the fun things in life, like pets, playing with toys, and swimming! I also enjoy my walks, and I'm getting the hang of the leash pretty well. You know what else I've learned? How to sit for my snacks! Did I mention I'm very snack motivated? That'll make training me in the future a breeze. I'm getting along great with my people pals, but I haven't had the best experiences with other dogs, so I'm a tad bit choosy about dog friends. I like to be in charge of the dog pack, or maybe I can be your only princess. I also really don't like when I hear loud, scary storms, so I need a family who will stay with me to comfort me and make sure I feel safe. I think going through a hurricane has been enough bad weather for me. After my rough beginning, I'm more than ready to just chill out in a real home and play with toys all day! Please give a girl a chance and let me be your best friend!!
