My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"KEENO, a 6-yr-old, 60lb Pitbull mix, was rescued from death row at the New York City high-kill shelter where he was abandoned by his previous owners who 'didn't have time for him anymore.' KEENO is an affectionate, loving and highly intelligent dog. Understandably, KEENO has a history of mild separation anxiety but has improved after adjusting to the routine of his current foster. KEENO has a tendency to become overprotective of his primary caretaker, so a thoughtful introduction to new people or abrupt visitors must be done on a walk outside the home first, which will allow for a warm welcome once he quickly learns to trust them. KEENO would do best in a predictable routine in a low traffic, peaceful home with no kids. While KEENO is somewhat timid when adjusting to new situations/environments, he absolutely loves life and enjoys long exploratory walks and car rides. KEENO knows basic commands: 'Sit,' 'Speak,' 'Paw,' 'Touch,' 'Yes,' and 'Give Me Kiss'! Cuddly, lovable and bright, KEENO has no resource guarding and is house trained. KEENO is a medium to low energy couch potato at heart. KEENO has a tendency to chase cats and critters, however he likes other dogs, especially females, but would be best as the only dog or with a dog smaller/younger than him. KEENO is fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, and heart-worm negative. KEENO longs for the forever home he has never known so we are urgently appealing for a rescue-oriented volunteer to adopt KEENO and become a part of this rescue dog's happily ever after, for which KEENO will repay you with loyal and loving companionship for the rest of his life. For more pictures, videos, and the rest of KEENO's story, please call Andrew anytime at (646) 387-9868. Thank You for your interest in KEENO!
