My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Millie, the sweet 7-year-old Labrador Mix with a heart full of love and resilience. Millie's journey includes overcoming parvo as a puppy, and while her recovery required quarantine and limited socialization, she has emerged as a wonderful companion.

Millie's sweet nature shines through in her love for walks, showcasing her active and adventurous side. She is not just sweet but also well-behaved, as she is potty trained and knows her basic cues.

Due to her unique past, Millie is slow to warm up to people and other dogs. She didn't find doggy daycare to be her preferred environment, and she thrives when given space to be herself. Millie would do best as the only pet in the home and would prefer a quiet environment with no small or young children.

While Millie may have some anxiety when left alone in the crate, her foster has reported her excellent grasp of basic training and potty training. If you're ready to provide a patient and understanding home for Millie, consider welcoming her into your family. With love and support, Millie has the potential to be a loyal and cherished companion, bringing joy and resilience into your life. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

I hope to meet you soon!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
