My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

Not only do I pull at heart strings, but I also pull on leash! I will need someone to help me with my leash manners.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

Woody arrived to ACC with no known history he initially presented fearfully, growling when the kennel was approached. With time he has been able to warm up, appearing social and wiggly with many handlers and allowing walks.

It has however been noted what Woody may spook easily the presence of select handlers, at one point growling on the way back to his kennel. He remains social with known handlers but would likely succeed best if given time to decompress and acclimate to a home environment with experienced caretakers.

A volunteer writes: Hello handsome! Woody's goofy hound-y face gives a glimpse into his personality. He is a larger guy who would make a great running partner. The strong but shy type, Woody needs a little time to get to know you in order to feel comfortable. Woody has been with us at the shelter for a few months --and we love him!-but what we'd really love is to see wonderful Woody settled into a home environment where he can relax and feel safe.
