My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ernie, the spirited explorer with a heart full of curiosity and a zest for life! At approximately 3 years old, Ernie is a large mixed breed on a mission to find his place in the world.

Ernie's journey began when he arrived as a stray on April 24, 2024, with no known history to guide his path. Despite his uncertain past, Ernie's resilient spirit shines through, eager to embrace new adventures and forge lasting connections.

During his assessment on April 28, 2024, Ernie displayed his exuberant personality, showcasing his enthusiasm for life and his love for exploration. While he may pull hard on the leash towards other dogs, his reactivity is not driven by aggression but rather by his boundless curiosity and social nature.

Sociable and affectionate, Ernie readily approaches when called over and accepts handling with ease, demonstrating his trust and affection towards humans. Despite his initial tense body language upon intake, Ernie quickly warms up with gentle reassurance and positive interactions.

Ernie's energy knows no bounds, and he thrives on daily mental and physical stimulation to keep him engaged and fulfilled. Whether it's long walks, interactive toys, or engaging games of hide-and-seek, Ernie is always up for an adventure.

While Ernie's exuberance may be a bit overwhelming for young children, his potential for fearfulness and on-leash reactivity suggest a need for a calm and patient environment where he can feel safe and supported as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

With patience, positive reinforcement, and plenty of love, Ernie is sure to blossom into the loyal and loving companion you've been searching for. If you're ready to embark on a journey of discovery and companionship with Ernie by your side, don't hesitate to make him a part of your family today. Adopt Ernie and let the adventures begin!
