My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Louisa

Breed: Miniature Poodle
Age: 6 yr
Weight: Lbs
Good With Dogs: yes
Good With Cats: yes
Good With Kids:
Energy Level: medium
Special Needs: no
Puppy mill survivor: yes

Requirements:

> Secure fenced yard
> Another small dog in the home
> Experienced adopter

Louisa is a typical puppy mill survivor in that she loves being with a pack of dogs (especially running around outside with and sleeping beside) but is still learning to trust humans. Her foster mom says she’s improved a lot since being released though! She’s curious and follows her around the house and likes to sleep nearby. Louisa will probably never be a lapdog but whoever adopts this girl will have the joy of seeing her blossom and shed the traumatic life of the puppy mill.

This dog is currently being fostered in eastern PA and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome.

PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!

We currently adopt in the states of PA*, NJ, NY**, DE, and some areas of MD. We cannot accept applications from other states at this time.

Our adoption fees are on our application.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.

We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.

We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
