My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oscar. This special needs boy was brought in from our infamous West End colony after we were able to successfully convince his caretakers he needed to see a vet. After a full workup and ultrasound, it was decided that Oscar would be staying indoors. And good thing - because this boy loves his fancy new indoor life.

Oscar is such a sweet, gentle boy and has a way about him that makes anyone fall instantly in love with his precious, expressive face. He has the cutest little bobblehead due to his mild CH and gives him the most adorable wobble. He certainly doesn't let it slow him down and loves to play with his string toys and go crazy for catnip. He will happily flop on his back as his way to let you know it's time for some loving and will immediately make air biscuits to show his content. He loves to chew on dog toys, which his foster discovered after she first found him chowing down on the litter scoop handle! He's a lovable, quirky boy who would make the most amazing best friend. He would prefer a home with his best friend Bug.

Oscar deals with chronic bowel issues but has been doing very well since starting his steroids, gaining 2 lbs of weight back. He has shown significant clinical improvement, and as of his re-check appointment on 1/17/23, his vet believes whether he has IBD or GI lymphoma, he is in a state of remission. Aside from a small portion of inflammation in his intestines, everything looks normal on his ultrasound.

With his improvement over the last 4 months, we and his vet staff believe he is also perfectly fine to continue his course of medications to keep him as healthy and happy as possible for as long as possible.

Because of Oscar's FeLV status and diagnosis of either IBD or GI Lymphoma, his adoption fee has been waived.

Oscar is about 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormer, flea treated, microchipped, FIV-, FeLV+, and has mild cerebellar hypoplasia.

Additional adoption info

Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need.

Each and every cat in our care has their own story and background. They are all fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless otherwise specified). Because of this, our adoption fee is $95 for one cat over 1-year-old or $155 for 2 and $110 for one cat under 1-year-old or $195 for 2.

Our approval process includes a vet reference (personal reference if you've not had a vet in the last 5 years), virtual home tour, and landlord approval should you be a renter.

The completion of an application does not guarantee approval for adoption.
